Access to primary dental care is a high priority for the ADA and the Second District. If every dentist and every staff member volunteers time or money or both, we can make a difference. Come see what some of our members are doing to help those in need and begin to think about how important this can be to you. Think of the impact these and other programs have to those in need and to our profession. This may be the most important Second District dental meeting ever. We can all help so bring your staff. Our goal is to significantly increase access to care for those who can't reasonably afford it through our volunteerism.

He instantly fell in love with the area and the people. The following year he accepted one of the prestigious positions at the University of Tennessee in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program. The education he received at UT has prepared him for all aspects of diagnosis and treatment in oral and maxillofacial surgery. While there, Dr. Campbell co-authored a book chapter, "Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis", that will be included in a prominent publication. Dr. Campbell is deeply committed to serving others and has participated in dental screenings and preventive oral care education. He has also worked as a personal care assistant for mentally and physically disabled adults. His service in the medical field includes being an instructor for Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) classes available to medical professionals.

Dr. Andrew Cheung took an unusual route to The University of Michigan, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery. Dr. Cheung discovered his true passion while volunteering at the Texas Medical Center while pursuing a degree in music at Rice University in Houston. Since receiving his degree, Dr. Cheung has furthered his education with several externships in oral and maxillofacial surgery at The University of Michigan, Vanderbilt and Seton Hall. He then completed a one-year residency in general dental practice at The University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville and continued his specialty training in oral and maxillofacial surgery for four more years. It was during his months of anesthesia training that he met his wife Leigh Ann, who is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. She continues to support his many endeavors including music, traveling, and photography. Dr. Cheung has also written several published works in oral and maxillofacial surgery and one pending in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
